Every electric power tool I’ve bought from HF has came with extra motor
brushes. 8 years on my 10″ Compound Miter Saw and haven’t changed the
brushes in it…and don’t ask me where I put them either because I don’t
    remember :( .

Generally, these are terrifically handy tools and you’ll never run out of
places to use them. I have a Fein with the quick change blade system
myself that I have used for years and love it. In regard to the video, I
am sure the author of knows that bracing this type of tool using only your
hands as shown will slow its progress considerably as a sympathetic
vibration in the hands will be created. The object needing to be cut needs
to be braced solidly for the tool to work most efficiently. In addition,
there are times when using the tool at a right angle might be necessary
but, in general, there is less control and less leverage which might be the
reason for the warning mentioned in the manual for the tool.

One of the best tools ever.I bought the extra service protection on
it..good thing because right before a yr was up, the shaft bent..got a new
one and this one is just as good..love harbor freight

That looks like a really handy tool for those times where you need to cut
into a door frame to sink hinges :-) )
No more mallet and chisel to recess locks or hinges, hope it worked for you :-) )

I have used one of these many times on many different projects. Wood,
copper pipe, ceramic tile grout, and for sanding. This is a great tool that
saves a lot of work and time.

I finally bought one a few weeks ago and used it about 5 times. I like it,
good power, easy to change blades, actually useful. I found that running
at the higher speed setting made the job easier; I guess it depends on the
job you’re doing. I’m planning to buy all the various blades when they’re
on sale. The hardware stores at which I checked blade prices seemed way
    too high priced.

  7. nemo227 says:

I’m going to guess the first blade (that’s “not supposed” to be used at an
angle) has multiple mounting holes because it’s less expensive to make all
the blades with multiple holes using a single manufacturing set-up.

Nice review, I have the Rockwell Soni-Crafter It works just fine and has a
bunch of different attachments. These tools go where a sawsall won’t. The
Rockwell cost a bunch compared to the Harbor Freight model but the quality
is not the same. I use mine all the time on the job and I love the tool .I
have used the Harbor Freight tool and it works well for the money, but they
don’t last long if you use it a lot. Thanks for the info, Roland

Ghostses I’m glad it cost zero. When you junk it, and you will, you won’t
shed any tears. The steel blades will not last. In Australia a different
colour is being flogged as the ” Miracle Tool “. I laugh out loud at the TV
ad and change the channel. If we refuse to buy this crap, they would have
to improve their quality. That would increase their costs. If we resist
enough, US manufacturers of quality tools will again be price competitive.
    I think it’s a compelling argument. Regards

  10. ghostses says:

Clearly I haven’t really used it, and don’t have any other blades- but it
looks like it would do a fine job. Thanks, G.

  11. ghostses says:

True. I have used it on my remodel project and it worked well where other
saws couldn’t get. For that, it was certainly well worth what it cost
me…lol. If it ever dies, like you said- no tears… Thanks, G.

  12. dave gale says:

might be free BUT when it breaks and spins off and cuts your face will you
still consider it worth even trying?

  13. ghostses says:

Thanks Roland, I’ve used the tool now and really like it. I agree for long
use it may not hold up. But, for the occasional use it seems to get the job
done. You’re correct about it getting in places other saws won’t. Thanks, G.

they now have blades for this that are made to fit most other brands[dremel

Just wanted to weigh in. I remodel homes and I have owned this tool (as
well as the adjustable speed model) for many yrs.and I have to say it does
a great job for me! For ceramic tile installs I slip the tile under the
door mouldings. It does well for cutting those mouldings! I have used it
many times. I’m happy! Does great also for cutting base board w/o taking it
    off the wall!

  17. ghostses says:

I would consider this type of tool the least dangerous of most power tools-
especially anything I’ve used throughout my life. With an extremely remote
possibility it ever breaks and cuts my face- I would doctor the wound and
    move on. G.

  18. ghostses says:

Thanks for the input and I would agree about being happy with it. It’s
turning out to be quite a useful tool and I’ve not even tried any other
attachments- just the one that came with it. Thanks for the post, G.

  19. ghostses says:

Thanks Larry! I was working on my house remodel yesterday and put the tool
to use. You’re absolutely correct- tight places is where it shines. Slow it
is, but sure beats a hammer and chisel like you stated- which is what I
usually go to. Not anymore. If it was compared to a hammer and chisel, I
bet it would win on time and be cleaner to boot. I got this “free” so to
speak, and now see the true value of this type of tool and will be picking
up other blades. Thanks for watching, and the post, G.

Thanks for the review,..I’ve been wondering about this tool.
