On a battery this size using an 8000w inverter means VERY little use out of the battery depending on load. 8000w would deplete that battery in minutes if not seconds. You need a battery BANK to supply the power that inverter is capable of, not some small car or motorcycle battery. We’re talking about 12v supplying power for 120v. You do the math.

How long would the battery last?

  7. oojimmyflip says:

Has anyone twigged yet that they need to do this for inland and off shore wind farms?
and the carbon footprint of building such massive converters outweighs the usefulness of a device that is not always generating. nice video easy to understand.

had a question. can regular batterie(double a or what not) be use to power a car power inverter if enough batteries are connected in series. was wondering.not talking bout the 2 6v or 12v battery.

  9. James Tu says:

yes, you can hook more batteries for more power by using either parallel or series. Anymore questions?

Can a battery charger keep a battery charged while that battery is powering an inverter?
I am using a 6 amp battery charger to charge a 70 aH marine deep cycle battery which is connected to a 750 watt inverter powering a 700 watt (6 amp) vacuum. Would the battery stay charged while it’s in use?

BTW- The battery has 2 positive terminals and 2 negative terminals. The charger is connected to the larger set and the inverter is connected to the smaller.

Part 2: However in practice (when actually fitting a unit such as this to a vehicle) you would need specialist tools and knowledge such as expensive crimping tool and the knowledge about cable selection and protection devices. So I hope my original comment may make more sense now. Good luck

  25. Avenom1 says:

Due to character limit…response part1: Because i’m an electrician, not an auto electrician but what I am about to say is relevant. I see people trying to do their own wiring all the time. Videos like this give people false confidence. It looks easy because it is and I am in no way saying only qualified people would be able to do such tasks.
